Calendula is a detoxifying herb that helps treat the toxicity that underlies many inflammations, infections and systemic skin disorders. It astringes the capillaries and staunches bleeding which explains its effectiveness on cuts and wounds.
It helps to prevent the spread of infections and pus formation; it speeds up the rate of repair with its antiseptic and healing properties; it promotes the production of collagen to encourage cell and tissue growth; and can soften scars and reduce the risk of scarring. It treats and clears fungal and bacterial infections; prevents putrefaction of wounds; and improves the overall health of the skin.
